ALTAR SERVERS

Altar servers share in a ministry that has a long history in the Church. Servers assist the priest/presider and the assembly in carrying out the ministry of our Eucharistic celebration. Servers must be in fifth grade or older; several servers continue with their ministry into high school.

Servers must attend the Saints Faith Hope & Charity School or Religious Education Program. The program is open to both boys and girls, and training is provided.

Altar servers are scheduled to serve each weekday at the 8 or 8:45 AM Mass, and weekend Masses on a rotating basis. Altar servers serve about once a month. Due to conflicts with the public school start times, only FHC School children are scheduled for weekday Masses.

Being an altar server is a great way to serve the parish, especially with one’s friends and siblings.

Prayerfulness, dependability, and willingness to learn are the only requirements.
